During the meeting, consortium partners gathered to present their respective contributions and participate in interactive workshops. These sessions provided a platform for deep dives into case studies achievements, methods for evaluating socio-economic impacts, and discussions on hints derived from climate adaptation and mitigation modeling.
The case studies are developing methods for evaluating socio-economic impact strategies, while modelers are exploring how to model climate adaptation and mitigation measures and setting the stones for the next steps of the project. Moreover, special focus was given to understand the ideal impact that DISTENDER aims to achieve.
Being the main output of the project, DISTENDER’s Decision Support System was then presented to the consortium, designed to guide decision-making processes based on robust data and analysis.
Finally, the esteemed members of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) took an active role during the last day of the meeting, adding a significant dimension to the meeting and concluding the proceedings on a high note.
Looking ahead, DISTENDER remains dedicated to advancing its mission and will continue to refine its strategies based on the outcomes and feedback from this gathering. Stakeholders and interested parties are encouraged to stay tuned for updates as the consortium moves forward with its ambitious agenda.
